Autumn and the skin

This is the beginning of a poem by Vincenzo Cardarelli, poet and journalist (1887-1959), which depicts autumn by conveying a sense of sadness and coldness on the skin that, with the wind, the rain and the no longer hot sun, becomes "sad" and suffers.

In our Mediterranean climate, the solar year includes a period of great heat and a period of great cold, alternating with two intermediate periods in which there should be a gradual transition from one temperature to another. These periods, called "seasons", force the whole body to adapt to the new conditions; the organ that, more than all, suffers the consequences of sudden thermal shocks is certainly the skin.

The skin, in autumn (with the change of climate), physiologically slows down its vital cycles, renews itself more slowly and appears drier; it is the period in which it needs to be nourished adequately and protected with care.

Just thinking about the first rains and the first colds makes you feel a chill: the skin transmits a negative emotion! The skin "remembers" unpleasant situations and warns the whole body to take the necessary precautions! It is a precious "dress" that protects us; that "transmits" the deepest emotions of the soul (goose bumps for happiness or redness for shame) or that allows precious functions (sweat that takes away internal dirt) or that makes us beautiful (vacation tan) or that makes us "live" in the midst of dirt (smog), acting as a protective barrier!

From this we understand how the skin is not only what we see; we must remember that it "rests" on a connective and muscular tissue; that it is irrigated by a fine network of capillaries; that it allows the emunction of internal waste substances and much more! All this is the skin!

We cannot think about its health only by "covering" it with external products, without remembering that it is "clinging" to internal structures! Talking about the well-being of the skin, then, means looking at it in its functional entirety: in its external and internal aspects.

The skin needs in all its extension, in the part that appears and in the deep one, to be "reset" from all the pollutants that have lurked in the pores and clean from all the dead part that exposure to the sun has produced. Over time, the property of physiological desquamation weakens, causing layers of dead cells on the surface, altering the specific barrier function and changing the complexion and radiance.

Deep cleansing, with mechanical exfoliation, renews the superficial stratum corneum and promotes extensibility, regenerating it and allowing precious hydration to prevent withering, pimples and blackheads.

It is useless to apply moisturizing creams if the skin is covered by deep dirt! The right action is a rational superficial exfoliation that, mechanically, detaches dead skin parts and residues infiltrated by substances not completely eliminated. The removal of dead cells and the elimination of deposits of resistant dirt become compulsory preventions, enriching daily hygiene with accurate actions that, in a short time and with specific products, can give the skin the possibility to "breathe" and maintain functional elasticity.

The exfoliating product must have, absolutely, particular natural components: a percentage of pure clay (for the mechanical action of removal), with castor oil (for anti-aging and elasticity) and green apple juice (for hydration). Mechanical exfoliation, with a choral product such as the one indicated, carries away devitalized cells, reactivates surface microcirculation, rekindles the "light" and renews shine.

This precious detoxification allows the subsequent specific external actions of nourishment and perfect preservation, but must be coordinated with products for internal use, toning the lean mass, lymphatic drainage and anti-edemigenous, of good solicitation of microcirculation and increase of tightness.

It is the synergy of the two actions (from inside and outside) that reaches the optimal result, offering, at the same time, the best conditions of functional tightness to the intimate structures, which offer support and nourishment, and beauty on the surface.

The result that is achieved with the use of "internal" and "external" products is unique and complete: it brings the skin to the "well-being that you see", offering the best conditions to live in perfect beauty and functionality, even "underneath".
