SOS skin and hair

08/02/2022

The skin is an organ that "feels" the seasons or, rather, undergoes them.

The passage from hot to cold affects both those who went on vacation in the sun and those who stayed in town. Skin aging belongs to everyone or, better, to all those who do not activate the most basic rules of prevention, for the health of skin and hair. From the cultural point of view, much has been said to teach or remember how to "take" the sun well, but little is the information of what to do when the summer is going away and leaves room for the first cold, the fog and the home heating; what should be done to preserve the tan, maintaining the state of well-being of skin and hair and protecting them from the "evils" of the change of seasons?

Protection from the first autumn colds

This, for the community, is a real problem, because it is poorly addressed and with confused and fragmentary indications, so much so that the health of skin and hair in the first changes of season is still not discussed competently and there are no indications on how to overcome autumn stress. It seems that the health of skin and hair ends with the summer, forgetting the dangers of facing the first cold weather in the wrong way.

First of all, with the cold, we cover ourselves. The first attention should be paid to the choice of clothes and shoes, because the dyes of these clothes, which come into direct contact with our skin, are chemical additives widely used and not always tolerated. It is not since yesterday that the finger has been pointed at the toxic substances (banned by the EU, but present on many imported garments) found on the dyes of shoes and clothes (Confartigianato studies 2012), which made it clear that some textile dyes release substances that trigger allergic reactions (Caterina Foti, dermatologist at the University of Bari).

Proper care for hair, hands and face

The skin, therefore, must be deeply cleaned, removing, as far as possible, the "contagion" received from dangerous dyes (*), as well as helped to rebuild itself, after the aggressions suffered by the excess of exposure to sunlight, and to protect itself, increasing the index of well-being. The term photoaging (Kligman), intended as extrinsic skin aging, negative consequence of an irrational exposure to the sun, is manifested by skin dryness; brownish patches on the back of the hands and face; markedly deep wrinkles; telangiectasias and marked skin laxity. All of this must be remedied, as soon as the first cold weather arrives, with the most valid prevention: natural products, tested and guaranteed as such, effective and without any contraindications. Of course, applications must be timely (immediately after the great heat) and constant (the skin is like a flower, it must be watered regularly), always remembering that only a deep cleaning with a certified product allows a good nourishment.

After the heat, with the first rains, it is necessary to promote skin rehydration and restructuring of the keratin fiber of the hair, with tissue repair and regeneration of surface cells. Not only to counteract aging, but to promote health, keeping intact the characteristics that make the skin our largest tissue and organ emuntore and sensory and healthy hair an important social symbol.

From many years of experience in the world of prevention, to protect the skin of the hands from the aggressive agents of detergents, hot water and the first cold comes to help us the essential oil of Lemon contained in the Nourishing Hand Cream and, thanks to Shea Butter, fresh mare´s Colostrum and Macadamia oil contained in it, we also ensure strong hands, well nourished and healthy, without cracking, eczema and chilblains.

For the care of the face and defense against wind, rain, cold and sudden changes in temperature we use a protective pool composed of Mallow, Azulene integral, Chamomile water, Jojoba oil, Shea butter, Wheat Germ oil and Niaouly contained respectively in the Mallow Cleansing Milk, Azulene Tonic and Vitaminic Serum.

In order to strengthen and regenerate the keratin fiber of the hair, it will be enough to use Ginseng and Sequoia shampoo while, once a week, hair should be treated with a tonifying mask: a regenerating pack to give body and to nourish the scalp as well. Therefore, hair hygiene must be entrusted to particular natural products, with proven effectiveness as tonics and restructuring agents.

All in all, prevention for the health of face, hands and hair is not particularly complicated: essential is the constancy of application and the certainty of using absolutely natural products.
